Should CHIMP allow IMMEDIATE release of the OIL reserves to ease the gas prices?

At $2.97, it's tiime we get these 50 million+ barrels of oil along the TX coastline sent everywhere before prices reach $3.90 like they did pre-Katrina. Don't you agree?

Of course, Chimp will deliberately take a long time to do this so his oil buddies can maximize their earnings.Should CHIMP allow IMMEDIATE release of the OIL reserves to ease the gas prices?
I think they should have released the reserves a long time ago. In addition I think we should have bought more oil from other countries, instead of depending on ourselves and the Middle East. I am tired of paying $3.17+ a gallon in California.Should CHIMP allow IMMEDIATE release of the OIL reserves to ease the gas prices?
That's not going to help much. You fail to realize just how little 50 million barrels is in regards to the larger picture.

Here it is, the world uses 75 million barrels of oil per day, of which, the U.S. uses 40% or 30 million barrels of oil per day. So, 50 million barrels is less than 2 days supply. The issue isn't increasing supply, but reducing demand. We need to take responsibility for our actions and stop using so much instead of telling the world suppliers we need more oil. As long as demand stays high, those oil companies are going to continue to gouge us.

Don't get me wrong, I wish Bush Junior would move to another planet, but releasing oil from the SPR isn't going to help.
Too right, but what do you expect from a congenital idiot?
Kookoo, as usual you have answered your question, yes he should but will he, this windfall could mean billions for for the oil company's and he and his family are investers. I have never known a repuglican to put the countrys welfare ahead of their own personal gain.
NO.
That would be a partial solution to an on going problem. Why not start drilling for oil here in our country for a long time solution too what will become a short term problem.
Sure he should! Do you think He really cares? He flies around in a plane or a helicopter! He has food, clothes and a place to sleep at night! Oh, to He can go to the doctor and get medicine if he is sick! See ya!
don't fool yourself the chimp is also making a profit from all of this , the sad thing is just like always the American people are being lied to and robbed, there is no legitimate reason for the oil prices we are seeing other then greed , come on people , these company's are showing record breaking profits, no matter what excuse they give the media to feed us to try and explain why oil has gone up, the truth is staring you right in the face ( record breaking profits ) they are lining their pockets with our blood , sweat and tears just like they have always done , the only difference right now is because their chimp buddy is in office and allowing them to run a muck, this pipe line shut down is just another excuse for a drastic increase at the pumps, the Bush family just so happens to own major stock in this company. there is no shortage of oil , our government has been crying wolf on this subject more years then I can remember.
It's a convenient story line for the Right. Unfortunately, the narrative is wrong.

How can that be, you might ask, when we鈥檙e constantly beaten around the head with the fact that no new oil-refining plants have been built in the U.S. since 1976? The reason that no new facilities have been built is partly because it costs far less to expand production capacity at existing plants than it does to expand capacity by building new plants. And because existing refineries are ideally situated near oil terminals and pipelines, it鈥檚 more convenient to increase capacity in those locations than to do so elsewhere. But if that鈥檚 so, how do we explain the facility shutdowns that have characterized the industry? After all, there were 325 oil refineries in the U.S. in 1981, but only 149 remain today. The explanation resides in the fact that we had a lot of refineries back in 1981 not because of market forces or the lack of environmental regulations, but because the government subsidized the existence of small, inefficient refineries. In reporting on President Bush's April 25 announcement that he would suspend deposits into the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) in an effort to reduce rising gasoline prices, numerous news outlets failed to note that Bush had previously criticized both the Clinton administration and Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) for proposing to use the reserve to lower prices. You must keep in mind who paid for George's ranch and Dick's bunker: Big Oil. And Big Oil -- and their buck-buddies, the Saudis -- don't make money from pumping more oil, but from pumping less of it. The lower the supply, the higher the price. Three bucks a gallon in the States (and a quid a litre in Britain) means colossal profits for Big Oil, and that makes Dick's ticker go pitty-pat with joy. The top oily-gopolists, the five largest oil companies, pulled in $113 billion in profit in 2005 -- compared to a piddly $34 billion in 2002 before Operation Iraqi Liberation. In other words, it's been a good war for Big Oil.

As per Plan Bush, Bahr Al-Ulum became Iraq's occupation oil minister; the conquered nation ';enhanced its relationship with OPEC;'; and the price of oil, from Clinton peace-time to Bush war-time, shot up 317%.

In other words, on the third anniversary of invasion, we can say the attack and occupation is, indeed, a Mission Accomplished. However, it wasn't America's mission, nor the Iraqis'. It was a Mission Accomplished for OPEC and Big Oil.

You actually expect that to make a difference? The problem is refining capacity, not oil supply. And we have a refining deficiency since no new plants have been built SINCE 1976 thanks to ENVIRONMENTAL WHACK-O INFLUENCE!!!

Don't blame Bush. Blame your green friends.

ps Bush did say he would release reserves to any refinery requesting more supply due to the shutdown of the Alaska pipeline.

read the news
he does not care about the american people
He won't do anything that interferes with his rich friends and family's profit margin.
You sound like you actually believe he gives a crap about anyone. He wont to a damn thing to help out anyone not in his inner circle of buisness buddies! He love watching people suffer and die. It's what he was good at as govenor and is it a surprise it is the only thing he is good at now? He wont do a damn thing about the prices of oil because that is what he's been trying to do from the start. Loot the whole country and tell everyone to screw themselves.
How is releasing the oil reseves going to lower the price of gas? All the release will do is make up for what is not coming through the pipeline. BP is still going to raise there prices to cover there own profit margin...and every one else will too!

If your really worried about it quit driving your car...take your bike, buy a motorcycle, walk get an rv and sleep in the parking lot if you live a long way aways. you don't have to use the gas as you've been doing.....your a pin head liberal use your head be prooogresssive!
I like president chimp and his questions. Two points and some entertainment..... by the way I agree with most of what he says...

why have they closed most of the refining plants? why not just open them back up then? if thats the real problem
:)))))))))))))
