Saudi Arabia reports it has 262 gigabarrels of proven oil reserves (65 years of future production), around a quarter of proven, conventional world oil reserves.





But looking at the way world economies are growing (China and India economic growth and its people鈥檚 affordability to buy vehicles and use oil) the our oil requirement is much more than predicted. If this being the assumption, we may utilize all the oil reserves by another 40 years.





Can we shall start imagining how life would be after 40 years. Dear friend we are already seeing the effect. Oil prices going up all the time and it is reflecting on the costs of all other products including food. This is increasing the cost of living in every place. But the employer is not able to pay enough to accommodate the increasing cost.





What the world should do to take care of this crisis?

You might be headed in the right direction, BUT WHAT about OUR OIL supply in TEXASZ that NO ONE seems to remember or talk about.? So I will have to say that we will hit OUR oil supply in TEXASZ.


BUT HOW do or does anyone know how much oil is left? Are you trying to say that oil suppliers, our WE ourselves have gone into the earth and have seen that there is ONLY so much oil left?
What we will do is walk, and not have a lot of the things that petroleum produce inclusive of plastics. The crisis should be taken care of by our being more economical in our using of oil and preserving oil for the future also by our taking the means to produce another way for us to conserve and take our dependence off of foreign oil.
You watch where the oil companies start investing their money. Believe me, these crooks won't starve. Mark my words, all of a sudden as soon as we start running out of oil, they'll 'miraculously' discover an alternative energy source.
By the time it starts to run out the technology will be there to get to reserves that can't currently be extracted - and that's all the figures that are ever given are - extractable reserves.





There are also new technologies for extracting gas from coal seams that can't be accessed normally.





Nuclear.





Wind, wave, solar power.





Geothermal power.





Electricity powered vehicles.





Theres plenty there, it's just too expensive to use at present - but with increasing oil based fuel costs that's changing all the time
Natural gas is the other means of powering cars and other such machinery. Unfortunately , not many major oil companies are seeing its potential lest it would mean a plasma TV less in their multi-million dollar home .
i'll be 105yo, so i prob won't be driving.
