We have tapped only 20% of the U.S. oil reserves offshore and on. Why depend on the middle east.?

Newsflash: The United States gets almost none of its oil from the Middle East!

Most of our oil comes from the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Seriously. Much of the rest comes from Venezuela and Nigeria. We don't ';depend'; on the Middle East for oil at all.We have tapped only 20% of the U.S. oil reserves offshore and on. Why depend on the middle east.?
Because when the one out of 10 offshore rigs blows a pipe and destroys an American coastline, ';y'alll'; won't have anybody to blame but yourselves.

There is a REASON that Florida and California and Louisiana won't allow drilling.

We don't want to DIE!We have tapped only 20% of the U.S. oil reserves offshore and on. Why depend on the middle east.?
tapping into offshore oil reserves only delays the inevitable. We won't see any drop in the price of gas for another 7 to 8 years. We're killing the environment enough by not taking measures to combat the effects of global warming. The environment doesn't need another kick to the balls with offshore drilling. There's a reason why it has been illegal for so many years. God forbid one of those oil rigs blows. Then you'll be sorry.

What we really need is to invest in ethanol and compressed natural gas. They're cleaner burning, more powerful than gas, and with ethanol, that money is going to American farmers rather than those Opec a**holes.

If ethanol would only take off already. I swear, it feels like we have two ethanol stations in all of California for Christ's sake!
I think it might be a good idea to go ahead and rush to drill the remainder of oil that we can get out of the planet and process it for the things that we will need. Along with fuels petroleum oil is also used in the making of plastic, and......is pretty much a necessity for production line assembly of products. This would allow us to make a clean break from petroleum if that is at all possible and set a more accurate date for when we will run out of fuel. Once processed energy companies would have no choice but to fully disclose and declare what we would have stocked for oil and, left with little else they would have to search more aggressively into alternative fuel sources. Also that would put an end to speculations about oil futures.
Because far-left ';liberals'; are never so happy as when they're dependent upon someone or something else. In effect, they believe this relieves them of personal responsibility for what happens. It doesn't, of course, but that's never stopped a ';liberal'; from indulging in their delusions.

No, he CAN'T!!! No, he WON'T!!! '08

No, she COULDN'T!!! No, she DIDN'T!!! '08
What makes you think that we are dependent on them. Our oil industries are the one extracting oil.

It is to blame our capitalism, they play with the prices.
Ask the politicians and environmentalists.
Because the Dems suck.
