Where are the U.S. oil reserves and how much is being held in reserve there?

I think we need AL Gore he is GREEN.Where are the U.S. oil reserves and how much is being held in reserve there?
The Oil Reserve is not located in one place, rather it is dispersed throughout the US. This makes sense logistically but also strategically. While the initial idea was one of a military necessity, it has been used to also offset the price shocks within the Oil Market. During the Clinton years, the Strategic reserve was used to offset heating oil costs.

I am not entirely sure what the exact amount within the reserve is, as it generally changes to through use and when the US demand for Oil increases. Presently, I believe the reserve is somewhere around 650 Millions barrels.

Hope this helped.Where are the U.S. oil reserves and how much is being held in reserve there?
ANWR in Alaska off our coasts but we can't drill there because of Liberals
I'm not sure. But I do know that our reserves could be greater if we would build more refineries. We are not in a shortage of oil - we are in a shortage of refined oil. We are beginning to use it faster that we can make it.
Its a strategic military reserve . This oil is to be used in the event of an emergency not just because gas is expensive .
