Yes. Drilling for oil where there is no oil is just plain stupid. We need alternative energy and we needed it 5 years ago.





Perhaps if the republicans who were in charge of everything at that time had worried a little more about energy and a little less about gay marriage and flag burning...we wouldn't be in this mess.Drill baby drill! The new production could depress oil prices which would save us much more money than the value of the oil.





Notice how small production problems around the world of oil were sending the price sky high and how the small decline in use due to the higher cost of gas drops the price of oil.





Oil prices are going lower now due to the global slowdown . The difference in dropping demand by under 1% has almost cut the price of oil in half.





The smart move is to develop alternative sources of energy along with drilling so that we can keep oil prices depressed during the transition.

We have 250 years worth of coal, but Obama won't let us use coal or liquid coal.





We have decades worth of oil in shale, but Dems won't even let us use it.





We can be energy independent by making 80% of our electricity with nuclear power like FRANCE does, but Dems won't let us do it.





But, I like the Dems because they keep making the poor and people with no college degrees and the elderly suffer more and more and more.





29,000 people will starve to death in the world today and Dems are forcing the US to use corn for fuel and driving up the price of food to the starving and poor and elderly. FUNNY!!!





McCain08 has a great point. Brazil thought they had little oil until they LOOKED. Now they have a HUGE field.





But, it's ok. OBama and Dems will keep the terrorists and Saudis strong.





Oh, the US could likely get $500 BILLION worth of tax revenue just by drilling in the OCS. But, I would hate to see the Dems and Obama get money that they could use to help the poor, edlerly, and to educate our kids.

3% more we produce for our selves reduced 3% of our imports = a net movement of 6%.


I mean, have you ever seen a wind farm? I have gawd awful things and how much energy do they produce given their impact on the environment. and yet they are a part of the energy solution, so I think the benefits of more oil now in US is great and is a plus environmentally too considering that most negitive impact comes from shipping it over the ocean.


It is part of an overall strategy including more walking!!!!

Even crazier when you realize it'll be 10 or more years before we can use what we come up with. Meanwhile, as global climate change increases, our natural resources (trees, healthy oceans and safe water table) will become increasingly important.

Where did you get the number. From ignorant demagogues. It's a fictitious percentage and not based on the results of exploration.
That figure is an estimate. Look at Brazil....they thought they only has a small amount and they had gushers!
