Because the reserves will have minimal impact on the price of gas. Not only do they represent a small fraction of the world's monthly consumption, we don't have the production capacity to increase output much. It would be nothing more than a feeble symbolic move.Why doesn't George Bush release the oil reserves if it will bring gas prices down?
Why don't we actually solve the oil problem?
Here's a novel idea: Why don't we actually try blaming the people responsible... politicians!
They prevent more drilling and building new refineries, then they mandate the use of a food for fuel thus reducing our food supply.
All the while they soak up their investments in the oil industry and call the executives into hearings about price gouging never finding anything wrong.
There aren't enough barrels of oil in the reserve to bring down gas prices more than a few cents a gallon, and it wouldn't last longer than a week. The reserves are only an emergency store for the most essential/emergency services for a few days in case of a major catastrophe.
Where it would bring down prices some. I would not do it because the reserves should be kept in case our supplies get cut off because of an embargo or as a terrorist action.
I bush releases the reserves it will only be a temp fix for a long term problem.Besides it will onle bring the prices down no more the 25 cents per gallon.They have done this before and it lasted for a week.

Why would he want to do that? He has his hands in all of this mess. He's making money.
